The Quesnel Branch has continued to be socially active by meeting four times a year for lunch. We meet the first day of the school term, at Christmas, Spring break and at the year end. Attendance at our luncheons have grown as has our membership. Forty-five members turned out for the year end social held in the Ball Room of the Billy Barker Casino Hotel. We share stories of past school experiences and keep up to date on members who have been travelling. Marie Skinner, a member who has volunteered in Kenya , gave a most interesting presentation on the school system there. Many of our members , including all of our executive, attended the retirement dinner for this years retirees from School District # 28. Mike Stevens our past president and our membership chair does a very good promotion when it comes to signing up new members. Mike was able to sign up all eleven of the teachers retiring this year. Our membership should now stand at approximately 116.
