Bob Meredith, President
The Creston Retired Teachers Association met four times during the 2013-2014 year. Each meeting featured guest speakers and were all well attended. We are proud of the fact that we have the highest average attendance in the Kootenays. Two of our meetings featured Bill Constable as guest speaker with his topics being history of the Creston Valley. Bill recently turned 90 and decided to retire as our Secretary-Treasurer. He was born in Creston and has lived here all his life. A remarkable guy.The meeting with Gerry Tiede and the young gentleman from Johnson’s Inc was most informative. It was too bad that Cliff was unable to be here. Our members were looking forward to meeting him. The Kootenay zone meeting was held in Creston again this year at the beautiful Creston Golf Course. We are geographical centre of the area and the meeting will be here next year. Two of our members (Bob Ferguson and John Chisamore) continue to give workshops for prospective retirees throughout the Kootenays. We are fortunate that we have such dedicated members who will share their expertise with new retirees. Our annual meeting was held in June. Respectfully submitted,
Bob Meredith, President
