Upcoming Enhancements | DOGWOOD EHC & Dental
Effective January 1st, 2026
Enhancements are coming to your DOGWOOD Extended Health Care Plan! Starting January 1st, 2026, your DOGWOOD Extended Health Care Plan will include several key improvements designed to give you better coverage and more flexibility.
Get more out of your benefits with a higher maximum lifetime coverage, increased maximum coverage for major dental and paramedical services, along with reworked vision care that lets you choose where to apply your coverage.
Increased Maximum Coverages
Lifetime Maximum: You’re lifetime maximum coverage will be doubled, increasing from $250,000 to $500,000.
Paramedical Services: The combined yearly maximum coverage for paramedical services (treatments from non-physician healthcare providers) will be enhanced to $1,500 from $1,000. To see covered paramedical services visit the BCRTA EHC page →
Dental Care: Major Services: All major dental services will see increased maximum coverages. Crowns, posts, inlays and onlays coverage will increase from a combined $700 to a combined $1,000. Bridges, dentures and implants will also see a increase from $700 combined to $1,000 combined. All major dental services coverage is on a per calendar year basis.
Increased Flexibility with Vision Care Coverage
Vision Care coverage will see a change in structure as of January 1st, 2026. Previously, vision care coverage was divided between eye exam coverage ($100 limit per 2 calendar years) and coverage for lenses, frames and contacts ($300 limit per 2 calendar years) – the new plan coverage will combine these into a single $400 coverage per 2 calendar years. Combining these into one coverage gives policy holders more freedom to choose how they use their coverage.

Are any of your travel buddies lacking travel coverage? No worries, your BCRTA membership lets you keep the ones you care about covered. Effective January 1st, 2026, friends and family of BCRTA members are eligible to apply for the DOGWOOD Silver Travel Plan!
